The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives.

Isaiah 61:1

Who We Are

Our Vision

Our Approach

Our Approach

As a distinctly Christian orphanage, we seek to help our kids overcome the hurts in their past through the transforming power of the gospel. Our prayer is that the children and young people we care for will come to know the love of God, accept salvation through Christ, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit with a strong Christian witness to others.

Our Approach

Our Approach

Our Approach

At Casa de Mi Padre, we believe in a holistic approach to helping children in need. We not only provide them with basic needs but also education, healthcare, and emotional support. We work closely with professionals to understand their needs and create life changing solutions.

Our Impact

Our Approach

Our Impact

Over the years, we have impacted the lives of hundreds of children through our various programs and outreaches. We have seen children who were once malnourished and sick now healthy and thriving in school, kids who were hopeless now filled with the joy of the Lord! We praise God for the changes He has worked in their lives.

About Casa de Mi Padre

Our History

Shane Sanderson founded Child Rescue International in 2010. He felt the call to international missions, specifically to orphan care, and eventually discovered the great need for a children's home in Santa Cruz del Quiche, Guatemala. At that time, there was no orphanage in the city whatsoever. He teamed up with a local Guatemalan church, and Casa de Mi Padre was born.

Within the first two months he had sixteen wild children living at Casa de Mi Padre! Within a few years, more people were catching on to the vision and heart of Casa! American missionaries have shared in Shane's mission and left the U.S. to help raise the children as well.

In 2026, Cole and Sarah McCauley became the directors of Casa de Mi Padre. Shane continues actively serving as director emeritus, leading mission teams, and helping with many aspects of the ministry.

Our Mission

The ministry of Casa de Mi Padre is to provide refuge and shelter for needy children coming from poverty, shattered homes, abandonment, or who are orphaned through death.

Casa de Mi Padre meets the physical needs of children in order to have the opportunity to meet their spiritual and emotional needs.

Child Rescue has established Casa De Mi Padre (My Father’s House) children’s home where children will receive hope, stability, food, clothing, shelter, family, schooling, solid Biblical instruction, and living examples of God’s love.

Where is Casa De Mi Padre?

Santa Cruz del Quiché, Guatemala

Child Rescue and the orphanage house Casa de Mi Padre, is nestled in a rural area on the southern edge of Santa Cruz, a small city in the mountains of Quiche in northwestern Guatemala.  We are approximately a 4 hour drive from the airport in the capital city of Guatemala City.

Although Guatemala is ecologically beautiful, poverty is wide spread throughout the countryside and large cities. Some of the highest rates of illiteracy, infant mortality, and malnutrition are in our region, while life expectancy is the lowest. The Quiche people are an indigenous group who have limited education and resources. The population of the city of Santa Cruz is between 45,000-55,000 people with only one other operating orphanage within the city. The opportunity for ministry is vast and the need for orphan care in Santa Cruz del Quiche, and the surrounding region is real. Casa De Mi Padre has been established to meet this need.
